I am a PhD student at the Department of Geography and an urban planner. In both research and practice, I deal with the relationship between built environments and social processes. I work with communities and authorities across Israel, engaging residents in planning processes and promoting an equitable approach in the policy and practice. I train in Goju-ryu Karate and my bucket list includes riding every funicular railway in the world.

About my research: Current urban renewal policies in Israel promote a market-led approach to redevelopment of aging neighborhoods and rely heavily on public-private partnerships. My PhD research examines the implications of regeneration initiatives on social cohesion and sustainability. I assess the extent of displacement and other negative outcomes, and explore the role of different actors, e.g. private entrepreneurs, municipal officials and resident groups, in the mitigation of these outcomes.
